“Imagine a red circle around "You have to understand piracy before you fight it."with an arrow pointing to "When I explained to her that she was actually ‘stealing’—she just didn’t get it." and the word fail written next to it in all caps in a large, red Impact font.

nah ka-ta-mar-i da-ma-cyyyy.
I keep a spreadsheet of grocery prices, and I can tell you definitively that fruits and vegetables aren't, serving for serving, cheaper than junk food. Apples come close, but that's it. They also go bad, making it difficult for people who buy a month's worth of food in bulk like I do to keep them in the fridge. Pasta and rice are cheap, but unless you want plain pasta and rice, coming up with sauces or dishes to eat them with gets more expensive. And eating nothing but plain pasta and rice really isn't good for you.!

She's also insane, filing complaints with the Attorney General and thinking it is felony click fraud for people to use bots to drive traffic to a contest webpage that specifically allows bot traffic. With that kind of over-reaction, you're liable to take the girl out for a drink and have her call the cops claiming your tried to drug her.?
Holy crap, that is amazing. Great job. |

I'm severely conflicted on this point. I have the Netflix streaming service thru a Roku box (and, soon, it'll be on the Nintendo Wii as well.) My experiences with a measly 3Mb DSL connection prove the "anti" guy wrong by a mile - once the buffer is full, the movies (or TV episodes) stream smooth as buttah. Yes, there isn't surround sound. Boo-f'in-hoo. Maye this is a situation where "cinema geeks" shouldn't apply. But......about a decade ago, a colleague that was a consultant in Hollywood predicted just this happening. He said..."Hollywood hates DVDs. They want you to pay for *every viewing* of a program. No longer will you 'own' a film, you will pay a license fee every time you want to watch it."Now I do realize that this is not where Netflix is right now, but it could easily be converted to that. Amazon's streaming service is also resident on the Roku box, and that is *exactly* what it is - a virtual DVD rental service that - once you cough up your $4 - you get 24 hours to watch that title. That strikes me as kinda spendy. Or you can "buy" a movie to "own" forever, even though you have no physical media of it. As a test, I bought "Idiocracy." But if Amazon dies, or discontinues the service, or the pipes go down, what have I bought? Nuthin'.Like I said: Severely conflicted.
