| Yeah. Seems easy to think of other factors that might be just as plausable a cause.I'd think the large imbalance in their mail/female ratio[1] is another big factor in the spread of diseases like this. "There were 120 boys born for every 100 girls. ... Among children born second, there were 143 boys for 100 girls," That's a lot of guys who will either be extremely frustrated, or end up sharing girls.[1] http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/11/world/asia/11chi ... |

Props to both! It was an amazing accomplishment. Greater than doing an Ironman tri or being in the Olympics. However, today, Everest has become a vanity walk up a mountain with a trail so define that it has ladders, ropes, and oxygen all there for your convenience as you are guided to the top by over paid mercenaries. ($80,000 per person.) The trek has become so vain that some even walked past a dying man named David Sharp rather than rescue him. "... Sir Edmund said that it was clear that the priority of the climbers who passed by Mr Sharp was to get to the top. “David Sharp’s welfare was secondary ..." Everest has lost it's magic.

The fact that Gore makes money promoting environmental awareness doesn't make him less correct about climate change..
Steve Ballmer probably said he hates Jobs, and HR took it the wrong way.!

My vote goes for the latter. He's a highly paid whore who thinks his customers are stupid.?
i really dont think there is anything "crazy" to recent Zelda plots to be honest.....sorry bro. Try Baldur's gate 2 or demons souls for a real RPG. |

I followed the link to the Associated Press story. The Associated Press should not be in the business of distributing corporate press releases. And shame on NPR for jumping on the bandwagon.http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?story ...

Was it intentional that the description was written so Marijuana could be interchanged with money?

Ah, yes. What wonderful, backwards logic.1) I'm not sure how old you are, but it's quite possible that something has changed in education in at least two decades.2) Of course there are worthless piece of crap teachers who don't deserve a high salary. Just like there are worthless, piece of crap lawyers, politicians, accountants, CEOs, etc.3) Let's say you are a bright, young, college-educated teacher who has decided they want to change the world, one student at a time. I'm assuming that they are ready to be everything that your worthless teachers aren't. They get into a school with a starting salary that just barely lets them live from paycheck to paycheck in a neighborhood that doesn't make them feel safe or secure. Each and every day they are faced with the challenge of taking 20-25+ students and forming them into the kinds of people that everyone wants them to be, except no one wants to help them get there. For example, the governor of the state stands up at election time and claims he will reform education, and then cuts millions of dollars of funding in order to plug up a hole elsewhere. Or the parents all complain when there children aren't learning mathematics correctly, but once it's time to find a parent to volunteer or to help make a donation towards buying new textbooks, no one steps up.Do you think that teacher is going to stick around for very long when they are A) underpaid, B) broke, C) scared of their work/home environment, and D) receiving almost no support from the people around them?
