Not really. Only state and federal police will enforce it now. you need to think globally act locally.
Thank you!

I'd call you a selfish douche bag, but I'm not sure exactly what you gain by forcing an 80 year old couple to stay alive while they waste away into nothing. If people want to end their lives while they still have some quality of life left, what the hell is wrong with that??
If only they had beets or Battlestar Galactica around. |

You're displaying ignorance here. It is forgivable because the sort of knowledge used to understand this is not exactly common knowledge.Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PrecessionYes, earth's true north pole actually (precesses) moves relative to the stars/orbit, etc.. Now, it is not too far of a leap to assume that since the crust of the earth can shift around on top and most of the mass of the earth is molten and liquid that the position of true north with regards to our accepted global map may have moved around. Is this proven? hell I dunno. But they're not talking about magnetic north, and what they say is plausible.

A big difference there is that, back then, many children didn't live to reach adulthood. If you wanted your family line to continue, you had to pop out a half dozen babies if you wanted even one of them to live long enough to have their own. Girls had to start doing this as soon as they were able to maximize the amount of children they could have. It wasn't uncommon for a woman to give birth as many as ten times, provided she hadn't died in childbirth (which is a complication that did make it uncommon, really). The advances in medicine have made all this unnecessary. Now you can grow up, have your 2.3 kids when you're ready, and not have to worry about dying in childbirth or the kids not living past age five. The adult population grows at pretty much the same rate now as it did back when women popped out children like so many pieces of candy out of a Pez dispenser. |
