It's never really capitalism when the Government is the "customer". Responsibilities that are clearly the Governments' should not be handed off to a middle man who gets to pocket the extra he "saves" by doing a shady job. The whole reason we trust tasks like "holding people against their will" only to a democratic government is exactly so they WON'T cut corners with the process.
Every city needs their own Dexter to take care of this *****.../s

With all of the politicians in the Democratic party getting busted in that corruption sting a few months ago is it any shock the voters of NJ elected a former U.S. Attorney whose office managed to win 130 convictions of corrupt politicians from both parties? The fact that he was a Republican, didn't hurt, since everyone scooped up was a Dem. Not easy to see that fostering a "vote the corrupt Dems out" mentality. ( not trying to say all Dem are corrupt or all Reps are clean, they aren't) Corzine's ads also hurt him more than they helped him. They seemed to go out of the way to attack Christie on a personal basis (thinly veiled shots at his weight, for example, that would have no impact on how he would conduct himself in office) crossed the line with voters from a fighting hard and tough to fighting dirty.?
Read about resistive vs capacitive touch screen technologies. Both have advantages and disadvantages; you can't just say that one of the solutions is "wrong". I know I'd rather have the precision of a resistive touchscreen (which gives it handwriting capabilities) and the possibility to use any object besides my fingers to activate the screen (fingers == fingerprints and grease) than having a slightly more sensitive screen (prone to accidental activation) and multitouch (useful, but not as necessary as handwriting recognition for my usage patterns). |

Israel has been the target of at least 65 UN resolutions condemning actions against Palestinians. How many resolutions have been passed condemning Palestinian suicide bombings and attacks on civilians in Israel? Zero.If that doesn't tell you anything about the bias in the UN, then I don't know what does.

"Fact" #2 is incorrect. The mayan calendar is simply an odometer, in 2012 it just adds another digit to the counter. It's just like your car, because your odometer is reading 999,999.99 and about to roll over to 000,000.00 doesn't mean the car is gonna explode, it just means it rolls to 1,000,000.00 but you can't see 7 digits so it reads 000,000.00 equaling 1 million miles... |
