Tax Law is much more complicated than you think. Some might say, well than taxes should be simpler, but in reality, everything simple escalates into something complicated due to loopholes and the socioeconomic outlook of the country. For instance, buying a house is very expensive, and being taxed for buying a house is understandable since you're buying property on a government owned land which protects your property through laws and a military. But house prices are so high that taxing would hurt the taxpayer, so the government felt that taxpayers should receive help by reducing their taxes by giving them a deduction for mortgage interest payments. And since house prices vary among individuals, they decided to determine the deduction through the income tax.The person is not simply fighting for his money, he is simply just checking whether or not the government took the right amount from him. The government isn't perfect and you need to make sure you are smart enough to figure out how much taxes you need to pay. Not everything can be dumb down for you.
